Another year of Youth Ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish got off to a great start with our September Youth Mass. We were very happy to welcome some new musicians and singers to our Youth Music Ministry, and we hope to continue growing! Our Youth Mass is held on the last Sunday of each month at 5:00pm.
In October, we began weekly gatherings called “Sundae Scriptures.” We gather each Wednesday evening to get the “scoop” on the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel reading. This has been a great way to help prepare ourselves for Mass by digging deeper into the Gospel. Following our reflection and always fruitful discussion, we bring the “sundae” to “Sundae Scriptures” with ice cream and lots of toppings to go around!
This Fall, we added a Youth Ministry bulletin board where you can check out Youth Ministry events happening at OLPH, in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, and in the Redemptorist community. There’s an opportunity to share prayers and intentions so that we can pray with you and for you. We invite everyone to be a part of “Sundae Scriptures” by posting our thoughts and discussions from the past week’s session. This has been a great way for Youth Ministry to become more visible in our parish!
We had a great turn out at both our Pizza & Games Night with Father Santo and our Christmas cookie decorating party, and we look forward to our next Youth Ministry event in February! We’ll be getting into the spirit of sportsmanship and some friendly competition in preparation for a “small” event that our beautiful city is hosting this winter!
