Summer Endeavour in a Redemptorist Volunteer Experience
What?
S.E.R.V.E. is an opportunity for 5 young men and women (age 18-30) to deepen their Christian Faith through fostering a sense of mission, service, prayer, and spirituality in a Christian Community rooted in the Spirituality of St. Alphonsus Liguori and the Redemptorist Charism. Through common prayer, community living, spiritual formation, opportunities for service in social agencies in Toronto, Eucharist, discussion and social activities, participants will discover Christ in themselves and learn how to bring Christ to others.
Where and When?
Redeemer House
Toronto Ontario
May 1-22, 2010
Deadline to apply: MARCH 5, 2010
Why?
Today’s young people love a challenge. We feel that many young people are searching in their spiritual life for a connection between faith and the needs of people around them.
We see SERVE as providing an opportunity where young men and women can explore their faith and their call to serve in the context of Christian community.
How (much)?
St. Paul tells us that the labourer deserves their reward. In keeping with the lives of simplicity that are lived by Redemptorists around the world, salaries will not be paid out as such. Rather, in order to help further each participant’s education, we offer a bursary of $900.00 upon completion of the program. In addition, room and board will be provided for the duration of the three weeks by the Redemptorists. The cost of transportation to and from Toronto is the responsibility of the participant.
