Redeemer House is please to announce that the Redemptorist High School Retreat Team will be serving Catholic schools in the Toronto area once again during the 2010-2011 academic year.

In the past, our retreat team has consisted of Redemptorist Priests and Seminarians, Redemptorist Lay Missionaries, staff, and a team of Volunteer Young Adults who are looking to give of their time towards the offering of faith based retreat days to high school youth.

In the past, the themes of the retreats have been: “Jesus as Friend”, “Building up Leadership”, and “The Cry of the Poor”.

Through a balance of prayer, interactive learning modules, presentation, and personal testimonies, high school students are able to explore their faith more deeply.

We welcome Sister Eileen Power CND to our Team at Redeemer House who will be the moderator and facilitator of the High School Retreat Program.

We are looking for YOUNG ADULT TEAM MEMBERS (age 18-25) to join our Volunteer Team! This is IDEAL for University Students who have an interest in the faith development of high school students, who would like to be a mentor and model for our youth.

Over the summer we will be accepting resumes to this position, and begin our formation/team building in the Fall.
Retreats will take place in the winter of 2011.

Expectations of Young Adult Team Members:

  • Participate in the Fall Training/Team Building Days
  • Be available for at least 3 retreat days in the winter of 2011 (dates to be announced later, and will be flexible)
  • Be a mentor to our visiting youth
  • Help lead presentations
  • Be a small group leader
  • Assist in set up and take down of each retreat day
  • Share your gifts through music, creativity, knowledge and personal experience
  • Be screened by protocol of Volunteer Screening for vulnerable persons
